Large format French guild Husson Buthod Double Bass. 7/8ths proportions, large bout gamba pattern.

Label reads: Husson Buthod Fabt. d’Instruments de Musique

This Husson Buthod double bass has enjoyed a long jazz career, and could move an orchestra section with its proportions. Gorgeous two-piece maple back.

An appraisal from 1968 (Tuonniges) states, “…in my opinion, the work of Charles Jacquot, who made basses for other firms throughout France as well as his own. This bass, bearing the label of Husson Buthod of Paris, I believe to be the work of Charles Jacquot while working in Nancy, France.”
