SOLD: John Juzek Master Art Double Bass, Prague, 1930s

Magnetic ghost ship John Juzek double bass. Prague Master Art label. Great patina, feel and presence, needs some updates but very close to fully restored. An excellent opportunity for the vintage Juzek aficionado.

Description

This John Juzek double bass dates to the 1930s, and has a magnetic vintage quality that just stands out. Sounds great and has the patina and feel of a long played and loved instrument. Original Master Art label from Prague, Czechoslovakia, 3/4 size double bass.

The bass has a pretty big scar on the back, but is sound and stable. We love the color, the vibe and the sound, but it is really asking for a new playing surface and bridge to come alive. Bryan, our resident bass teacher exclaims, “This is a great bass!!! If my own bass exploded tonight I would pick this one up in a heartbeat!”
