I replaced my Super Sensitive strings with the La Bella Super Nils and can report that the bass picked up volume and warmth in tone and the low tension makes it much more fun to play. I’m only an occasional bass player and when I do its playing back up to old time. These strings enabled me to get the mostest sound with the leastest effort. I am now a laid back bass player and actually look forward to playing it. Easy on the fingers too. I don’t use a bow…or haven’t yet. I have to keep checking the tuning which doesn’t stay locked in like the Super Sensitives did.

I play Bluegrass music and these are very easy on the fingers, last a long time and sound good. This is the 3rd. set that I have purchased and am very satisfied with them.

  3. Blake Harris

I put these on my bass about 2 months ago. They hold tune well and have a warm but not too bright sound. They are eating my fingerboard a bit, but that is more due to my playing style (rockabilly/psychobilly slap). So far I can\’t complain.

NOTE FROM UPTON BASS: These strings have a nylon wrap which is usually pretty friendly to most fingerboards, especially Ebony. With an \”ebonized\” hardwood board or other \”softer\” materials, wear is common with any string, even natural gut.

Replaced the high tension strings that came on the bass with these guys. after spending a few days wearing my fingers out, i am more than pleased with my purchase. while the tone isn’t as bright as some may desire, it serves my purpose just fine. never touched strings so easy and inviting to play. perfect for just about any style of music, but the low tension nylon does wonders for your slap.
