Pirastro Evah Pirazzi Double Bass Strings: the most popular multi-use string on the market. Suitable for both Arco and Pizzicato playing. Synthetic Core

Description

Pirastro Evah Pirazzi Double Bass Strings are a hybrid set, suitable for both Arco and Pizzicato playing.

Constructed with a modern synthetic multi-filament fiber core that is wound with chrome steel and polished smooth, this set is a further development from the success of Obligato’s. The result is a set that provides outstanding tuning stability, a very short break-in time, and an astonishing resistance to rolling. Pirastro Evah Pirazzi Double Bass Strings are resistant to changes in humidity and temperature. The big, powerful, warm sound of the strings is combined with an accentuated low frequency spectrum and an exceptional resonant decay. Quick response allows for easy left and right hand articulation. Due to the phenomenal projection of the Evah Pirazzi strings, the range of tones and nuances can be heard even in large concert halls.

Pirastro Evah Pirazzi Double Bass Strings are available in Light/Weich and Medium/Mittel tension or Solo. Compared to the Medium/Mittel set, the sound of the Light/Weich set is brighter and growlier with a little more sustain, and a pronounced core sound. Gary’s Thoughts: Pirastro Evah Pirazzi Double Bass Strings are the most popular multi-use string on the market right now. They’ve set a new standard in the multi-use category and have spurred along many other manufacturers to redevelop their products. They are a great multi-use choice, but as with any hybrid string, there may be other strings that are more suitable for a specific style. For jazz players, I’d recommend light/weich gauge, as they feel more like most manufacturers mediums. The medium here is much more of a heavy string. As far as pizzicato playing goes, the Evah Pirazzi’s aren’t bright by any means, in fact they are more of a medium to darker sounding string.

Highlights:

  • The natural choice for a hybrid string
  • Suitable for arco and pizz alike
  • Powerful, big, dark sound
  • Outstanding resonant decay
  • Modern synthetic core strings

I have great basss. A bernard Simpn Fendt. It sounds good with anything on it. Till I tried the Evah Piraazzi strings. These strings brought more life and pure fun of playing then anything that I have tried in 10 years . They are the best string I have ever tried. After $ months I know I have found the string of a lifetime.I”ve been principal bas of the alabama symphony for 35 years.

I just got these strings put on my bass, previously i had Spirocores, which had a great pizz sound, but i hated the arco sound. Way too scratchy for me. Anyway, once I played these strings, I fell in love with them. Its actually a funny story, I wanted to get Obligatos put on, and the shop set aside a set of them for me, but when I got there, the set wasn’t complete, apparently they sold the D and G to another customer by accident. Anyway, they pulled out a set of these and I was hesitant at first, but decided to go with them because I heard great things about them. Well, I wasn’t dissapointed. The pizz sound is freakin awesome still. I was afraid that i was gonna lose the growl the Spiros had, but the Evah Pirazzis still maintained enough growl for me to be happy, and the darker sound actually made up for the loss in growl. I actually prefer these to Spiros for jazz playing because they are darker and much more round sounding. And for arco, i was blown away. I was like, i cant believe this is my bass, it sounds so good. It bows so much more easily and the sound is dark and rich, and I love it. I highly reccomend these strings to any player.

I recently bought a set of (light) strings for my bass, as an upgrade to a set that had been on my bass for many many years, at the advice of your staff – excellent choice – what a difference a new set of strings makes. Bow and Pizz response great. Thanks for the good advice.
