Robert Ames German Double Bass Bow – #190

Robert Ames learned his craft in New York City while working with William Salchow and quickly rose in reputation as a master craftsman.  He has won honors at the International Violin and Bow Competition in Hofstra University in Hempstead, New York in 1980, and at Salt Lake City, Utah in 1982.  He continues to be active in bow making as well as fine repair and restoration in Fort Lee, New Jersey.

This particular bow is joyful in your hand and your bass will sing sweet nothings in your ear when played with it.  The craftsmanship is superb and it was clearly made with love.
