Thibouville Lamy Claudot Style Double Bass c1890

This is a stunning J. Thibouville-Lamy contrabass in excellent playing condition, direct from the concert stages of the world in the hands of Carlos Henriquez. Set with Henriquez’ preferred gut strings this bass exhibits a sparkling,
percussive jazz tone with a warm character and deep resonance.  The flat back and size give it great projection and exquisite tonal clarity.

Typical JTL scribe purfling adorns the classic Claudot-style pattern. This instrument has been maintained to the highest standards with an expertly fitted back brace, comfortable grafted neck, a great board, beautifully crafted bridge and
42″ string length.  The vintage-styled configuration of strings and tailpiece gut can be modified with steel strings and an adjustable bridge per your specifications.
