The Upton Bass Reverb page changes all the time – it’s a good outlet for the many non-basses that we end up with! Recent offerings have…

SOLD: Neville Whitehead Double Bass 1986
Neville Whitehead double bass from 1986. Neville has been building basses and cellos near Sydney Australia for over 40 years. Very much an “Italian-masters-via-English-craftsman” style in the legacy of Hawkes, and more recently George and Thomas Martin. Stoutly built, wide upper bout, the build is exquisitely crafted without extra ornament. The quality of the fine flamed Maple back and sides and the precision of the lutherie serve as understated decoration.
Not For Sale: Moses A. Tewkesbury Double Bass, 1844, Chester, New Hampshire
A beautiful example of a great early American contrabass from Moses Tewkesbury, one of Abraham Prescott’s longtime luthiers.
