Description

Golia Double Bass 2015, Italy

Luciano Golia Contrabasso, Fecit 2014/15, Italy

Unlike many of his instruments, this Golia double bass has not been named but features beautiful tonewood. Fully carved Poplar back and sides, with an uncommon attractive figure to the wood. Tight bend on the inside of the C-bout, with a little stress creasing. Distinctive,  Golia shape with large lower bout and pinched midsection. Unique handcrafting quirks are shared by many Golia contrabasses. A lot of bass for the money! Unique and beautiful, easy to play with a lot of tonal possibility for the musician. Set up for the individual, Golia basses come alive under the bow and deliver punchy pizzicato.
