Mittenwald Flat Back Double Bass Restoration Project

This is the very bass that inspired our renowned Upton Bass 7/8 Mittenwald model. This vintage bass features classic outside linings, a beech neck with traces of original varnish, and a well-worn body that tells its own story. While we’ve used this traditional pattern as a foundation, our modern Upton Bass version includes refined updates such as optimized F-hole positioning, enhanced neck angle, overstand adjustments, and a tapered rib structure leading into the angled back section.
