Built when Günter Krahmer was in his early forties, often a maker’s prime, after decades of training and immersion in family tradition, this instrument embodies everything that makes the Pöllmann name so respected: impeccable craftsmanship, gorgeous wood and varnish, and a refined, deep sound.
This bass was imported by Wil De Sola, a well-known figure in the bass world celebrated for bringing special instruments to North America. Rather than the typical Pöllmann label on the back, inside you’ll find Günter Krahmer’s own label, marking its unique provenance.
Günter Krahmer, father to Michael and the late Ralph Krahmer, passed away in 2020; sadly, we also lost Ralph earlier this year. The Pöllmann family’s influence remains profound, inspiring bass makers—including us—to continually aim higher.
