Description
American Standard Double Bass, 1938, Serial No. 566
H.N. White Co., Cleveland, Ohio
Very well-kept American Standard double bass, the bigger sibling of King basses made in the 1930s, proudly made in the USA while emerging from the Great Depression. This example has an adjustable cast-metal bridge, likely a Selmer bridge from the same era. It’s been there for most of its life so we’re leaving it (that decision is up to the next owner!)
These American classics were rare to begin with, it’d be hard to find one cleaner! Loud, present and very responsive, quite a timepiece.
