Description
Alfons Fantisek Vavra was a noted instrument maker in Prague, Czechoslovakia where was born in April of 1901, and where he died in May of 1957. His father, Jan Baptista Vavra, was his mentor. Vavra’s instruments were usually varnished either red or brown. He used several different styles of labels, and had many pupils throughout his career including Karel Vavra, Antonin Kolomaznik, and his children; son Alfons and daughter Ludmila.
