Bjorn Stoll Double Bass 2005, Markneukirchen, Germany
Bjorn Stoll is a German kontrabasse and cello builder, who’s family has produced instruments and strings since the early 1800s. His father Klaus worked for Rubner and is a guiding hand in the shop today.
This contrabass has a very pretty and balanced violin-cornered design in a slightly smaller package. Long C-bouts with a very comfortable upper bout. Excellent craftsmanship throughout, modern projection and nice arching. Clear and responsive, plays well under the bow.
Fine setup health with a slightly shorter string length, this Bjorn Stoll double bass combines classic form with modern comfort. Includes case.
Label states “Erlbach,” Erlbach is municipality in Bavaria which has recently been added to the town of Markneukirchen, a center of string and brass instrument building for centuries.
