Description
The Emanuel Wilfer workshop began building instruments in Germany in 1905 and is currently in the 4th generation of makers. The Wilfer workshop made many of the basses that were imported into New York City and labeled as John Juzek double basses. Emanuel Wilfer basses are systematically graduated using a process perfected by the Cremonese masters, like Amati and Stradivari, in which “circles” are laid out from the center balance point of the instrument.
This 1984 Wilfer Double bass has been completley gone thru by Upton Bass and has our guarantee and clean bill of health. The new thick fingerboard really brought out a sweet singy and full sustaining sound! Very fun to play! Why buy new when you can have the played in sound with upgrades for less!
