Description
This remarkable Juzek Master Art contrabass is from 1931, hand-numbered 71. It has just finished a transformative restoration here at Upton Bass.
This classic Bohemian bass has become a fantastic player again with modern geometry. A partial list of improvements includes a new European spruce top, neck graft/replacement with original scroll, completely refurbished ribs and back, new end block and endpin. Complete Upton setup from the nut to tailgut, including fresh Ebony board. Gorgeous warm, antiqued varnish integrates the new top and just glows!
This Juzek Master Art now has the vibe of a bygone era with the predictability of a new instrument. Tight punchy Juzek sound. A compact classic now a pleasure to play and admire.
