Description
Kay Double Bass 1940
Another classic American plywood upright bass. Great shape, classic sunburst.
Could use another plank someday, but plays great and solid as is. What a classic! Gamba cornered rare Kay bass. Clearly has been cared for over generations.
From KayBass.com:
“Kay bass model 89…they appear to have been manufactured between 1939 and 1945. Probably less than 50 were manufactured. I don’t have any info on the bass, other than it is the Concert (C-1) model. It is suspected that the model 89’s were sold by Sears, Spiegels, Montgomery Ward and other mail order companies.”
