Description
Very early Kay Upright Bass from 1937, #786, very well-preserved, includes original canvas cover.
This bass is in amazing shape! It’s from one of Kay’s first production years. It has been played plenty but looks to always have been cared for and maintained. It is ready for the gig “as-is.” Doesn’t need any work. There’s still meat left on the fingerboard, and the bridge is spot on. This bass plays really well and has that big Kay sound. A true collector piece for Kay double bass aficionados.
The bag is still in great shape as well. The original zippers still work and it’s not filled with cat hair! We looked in the pocket for some money but then remembered that musicians only made something like 15 cents a job.
