Marco Raposo Nickel-Mounted Pernambuco Double Bass Bow – German (131.9g) (Sergio)
Marco Raposo is a Brazilian bow maker, who having studied bow making in America, returned to his home and started a small devoted shop of bow makers. One of his chief priorities was to build a sustainable business model working with responsible forestry, in an industry (much like ourselves) dominated by Asian factories. All Raposo bows are made from mature (at least 30-year-old) Pernambuco wood, which over time will be grown on their workshop’s own land.
We’ve found their bows to be consistent, finely made, and tremendous value for the musician. For the price, you can not find this quality in a natural hardwood bow.
