Description
USED Marco Raposo Nickel-Mounted Pernambuco Double Bass Bow – German (132.5g) (10/10)
Marco Raposo is a Brazilian bow maker, who having studied bow making in America, returned to his home and started a small devoted shop of bow makers. One of his chief priorities was to build a sustainable business model working with responsible forestry, in an industry (much like ourselves) dominated by Asian factories. All Raposo bows are made from mature (at least 30-year-old) Pernambuco wood, which over time will be grown on their workshop’s own land.
We’ve found their bows to be consistent, finely made, and a tremendous value for the musician. For the price, you can not find this quality in a natural hardwood bow.
