Description
Pollmann Double Bass 1969 No. 52-V 3/4, Serial No. 407 – E.M. Poellmann Contrabass
An excellent, well-played example from this iconic Mittenwald family of bass builders. This 1969 example was most likely produced under the watchful eye of 3rd Generation builder Günter Pöllmann. (Ho-hum, another Pöllmann double bass with more of the most amazing figured maple you’ve ever seen!) Light, lively and extremely playable.
Long violin C-bouts excellent for bow work, but this instrument is also a joy pizzicato. Our resident bass player/teacher Brian raves: “Easily the best Pollmann I’ve ever played! Sounds awesome and I would take this to any of my gigs (that is one of my highest compliments). It was played a ton and it shows – it has some wear but that’s also why it sounds so good.”
This bass has excellent setup health and comes with a bass bag.
