Description
Pictured here is a Pollmann “Gamba” model fully carved double bass from
Michael and Ralph Krahmer, Mittenwald’s fourth generation Poellmann
master bass builders, built 2003. A serious orchestral bass, great for
solo and the section.
Beautiful tight grain “bearclaw” grain Spruce top widening at the
flanks with deep ribs – very ergonomic in pattern, tapering
comfortably at the neck heel. Pronounced arching with deep C-bouts for
more facility with the bow. Gracefully antiqued varnish, with broad
Maple flame on the back and ribs. Top quality Rubner tuners (wood
facings on keys will be restored with Ebony).
This beautiful, comfortable instrument would shine in solo or chamber
music settings with a clear, present and detailed arco sound.

Lower Bout: 26”
