Description
Thomas and George Martin 4/4 Double Bass NEW, Oxfordshire, England, 2018
The Martin 4/4 double bass is built with generous proportions and classic English style. Thomas and George Martin designed this instrument to have better ergonomics than the giant basses that inspired it. The result is a grand bass presence for the symphony or stage.
Robust in scale and detail, Martin basses are built with fine woods and traditional methods, giving them their unmistakably English character.
Please note this is a new, mint condition Martin 4/4 double bass. Upton Bass currently has four recently built Martins awaiting their first owner. If you’ve been interested in a Martin on this side of the Atlantic, this is a unique moment to audition and choose one of these outstanding contrabasses. +1 (860) 535-9399.
From the maker:Â “This instrument is based on the great masters of bass making notably Vincenzo Panormo and Thomas Kennedy. We slightly adjusted the upper outline and tried to retain the classic character while making the instrument easily playable.”
