Upton Bass Concert “Solo” Model Double Bass. Opus 12 Anno 2010
This Upton Bass Concert Model was our 12th fully carved double bass and features clean wood choices throughout. A sugar maple back, neck and sides with a German spruce top, made on our Karr V1 model but with violin corners and the Lafarro Prescott ff-holes. This bass was perhaps the first bass in what would become our “Venetian” model.
This Upton double bass has been exceptionally well cared for and has clarity across the range, with all of the upper bout access of our Karr model. The medium amber varnish beautifully highlights the clean wood plates.
