Description

Anton Schroetter Double Bass, 1975

Mittenwald / Bayern, Germany, Modell 22 3/4 Size No. 4070

Very nicely preserved Schroetter double bass from the ’70s. A well built fully-carved bass, gamba corner straight grain maple back and sides with compact proportions, very pretty flamed maple scroll and no ornament. Just gone through at Upton Bass, addressed all cracks and cleats with top off, a clean bill of health on an instrument that’s always been well treated. Healthy setup, just cleaned and refreshed. Strung with Spirocores. Very nice example of a maple West Germany-era string instrument.
