When you’re in the shop picking up your new Upton Bass, I have a series of “rules” I go over. Keep your bridge straight, wipe down your bass when you’re done playing, humidify humidify humidify…and the puppy rule.
We’ve had a few repairs walk into the shop from musicians playing in direct sun and having glue joint failures. Now, mind you these are usually very inexpensive basses with bad craftsmanship to begin with, but with summer temps rising, the puppy rule is in full effect!
This weeks video was requested by our own Bryan who said, “man, you’ve got to do a video for your puppy rule!” as one of the basses that had a neck failure was a student of his who was forced to play his old Shen because his NEW Upton Standard Laminate wasn’t quite ready to be picked up.
