Josef Rubner Double Bass built in the early 20th Century. A beautiful example, expertly restored by Lou DiLeone, and played locally in the Eastern Connecticut Symphony Orchestra. A pleasure to play and hear – a great value for a full-fledged symphonic instrument.

SOLD: This Josef Rubner Double Bass was built in Marchneukirchen, Germany

Stunning wood, great sound, and ease of play make this a standout in a crowd of German basses. Very light and resonant. The back and ribs ripple with figured tight grain maple. This bass was restored and bought from Lou DiLeone of New England luthier fame. This instrument has a story and a remarkable voice to tell it – a tremendous value at this price point, and a staff favorite.
