Ventapane-Style Double Bass

This bass reflects the character of many authentic Ventapanes characteristics, possibly incorporating Italian tonewood, but with replaced ribs and possibly back. It will undergo a re-restoration to Upton standards prior to sale. The scroll has been grafted, and the instrument shows signs of a long history of work, including a significant restoration by Lou DiLeone. While not a pure pedigree, it’s a solid player’s bass with lots of character. Once restored, it will be sold for 18,500.
