Description
The Fishman Full Circle Double Bass Pickup was developed by Larry Fishman and was based on the invention of Kiyohiko Yamaya of Japan. It is a piezo pickup embedded into an aluminum bass bridge adjuster. This Full Circle double bass pickup is a huge improvement from the “original” Fishman BP-100 Double Bass Pickup, which clipped on the front of the bass bridge. The threads on the adjusters are 1/4-20.
Due to the custom installation method of the Fishman Full Circle Double Bass Pickup, we cannot accept returns. Please accept our apologies.
Professional installation is recommended on any double bass, although the Full Circle is a quick retro-fit on any upright bass with height adjustment wheels.
Gary’s Thoughts: At Upton Bass we recommend this pickup for instruments that have issues with even sound or have characteristics that are hard to control with more “open” sounding bass pickups. The compression offered simply by the make-up of this pickup (being embedded in the metal of a bass bridge adjuster) gives a smooth predictable sound. This is by no means an insult to the design of the Full Circle Upright Bass Pickup; however, the sound of the pickup remains present regardless of the bass that it is installed on. If you prefer a double bass pickup that is more transparent, you may consider the Rev Solo.

I found the best price with Upton. The Full circle pickup comes in a very impressive package and manuals. The quality right off the box looks great. It provides plenty of bass output even without a preamp. I wish the guys at Fishman use black color wires – the white wires tend to jump at you quite obvious when you have a darker color bass. Black or brown wires could be a better combination.
It is not a bad idea to consider the preamp to improve the sound even more and control speaker feedback, but again not critical if you don’t have it.
