Description
Lou DiLeone Double Bass – Restored Early 20th Century Bohemian Upright Bass
This Lou DiLeone double bass is a full restoration of a Czech or German gamba pattern double bass that probably dates back to the 1920-30s. Lou does an amazing job restoring these instruments to a stylish like-new condition. This example has been completely rebuilt and revarnished, with a new scroll graft. Setup was completed with a thick slab of ebony and Lou’s own carved bridge with wooden adjusters. Still at it in his 90’s, Lou is an inspiration to us all!
We love the mother-of-pearl buttons on the tuners and the flair of this retro-rod. New bridge, stamped DiLeone with wood adjusters. Erlin pickup, fresh setup, fresh strings.
