Offered here is what we believe is a post-war (50s) John Juzek Upright Bass, pre-restoration. Upton Bass has not gone through this instrument at all and we know there are some who would like to get in “ground level” on a vintage instrument which could be a pearl in the rough. The unrestored price reflects that. Could be a perfect instrument for the vintage mojo bargain hound planning restoration in the future or in stages!
[The price of this bass with the restoration would be $8,000]
Restoration would involve a new hand-carved deluxe European spruce top, finished matching and built to deceive. Also included would be a new nut, fingerboard, bridge with adjusters and carbon finder endpin.
