This Kay, model
M1 from 1961 is in MINT condition.
The serial number is 43274. This bass has had only two previous owners.
Try as we might, we cannot find a single structural flaw with it, and the finish
is superb with the exception of a small varnish chip on the top C bout area.
The neck heel is secure and shows no evidence of fracture. The finish on
the neck is flawless, and we thought at first it had been replaced…but this
neck is legit. A one piece highly curled maple back takes your breath
away…you simply cannot find wood this nice anymore! Truly an awesome
bass to show and own! It’s almost like going back in time. If you
dream of Kay’s…this is the one that haunts you.

Duane Wieding –
This bass was exactly as reported. It has been a joy to play so far, and my fellow band members can hear the difference. Getting the Kay and setting it up was snap with the online instructions. Overall it was a super experience.
